L&D functions have endured so much transformation over the last few years. They've been tasked with taking on bigger, more strategic initiatives. A responsibility that begs the question: Do they have the skills to succeed?

We used our learning survey from December 2021 to answer this question where over 300 L&D pros identified 39 skills, categorized into 7 skill groups, they need to take on what's next. In the data we found L&D pros in high-performing organizations focus on slightly different skills compared to everyone else.

In this webinar, Dani Johnson from RedThread Research along with Linda Jingfang Cai from LinkedIn go through data from RedThread's report, "Future-proofing L&D: Developing the right skills" and complimentary infographic. Posted on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022 at 6:26 AM

These days, there’s learning content everywhere—inside and outside orgs; online and offline; in learning systems, email, chat platforms; and more. It’s chaos.

L&D functions must help employees navigate the chaos to find the content they need. They can start to do this by asking 2 questions about their learning content:

  • How long is the content’s shelf life?

In this session, Dani Johnson and Heather Gilmartin Adams explored these 2 questions and presented RedThread’s latest research on learning content. Participants:

  • Learned about current trends in content
  • Explored a model that can inform a solid learning content strategy
  • Saw how forward-thinking orgs are addressing common learning content challenges

Posted on Thursday, December 23rd, 2021 at 6:42 AM

It’s no secret that the pandemic forced most L&D functions to completely rethink their traditional, in-person, course-oriented learning playbooks. Traditional methods can no longer keep up with the way learning happens in orgs today, let alone help orgs get ahead.

But it raises a question: What are the right methods to enable learning as it happens in orgs today?

In this webinar, Dani Johnson and Heather Gilmartin Adams from RedThread Research discuss the wealth of learning methods available, how they enable different learning behaviors, and leading practices for choosing and offboarding learning methods.

The Skills Every Employee Needs for DEIB

Posted on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021 at 1:33 PM

In this webinar, Stacia Garr from RedThread Research, along with Janice Burns and Susie Lee from Degreed, discuss the biggest findings from the latest study on DEIB and Skills.

2020 and 2021 saw a significant increase in focus on DEIB that stemmed from change in expectations from investors, consumers, and employees. As a result, we can see orgs making marked investments in DEIB.

Skills can form an important part of the efforts to drive DEIB. This presentation covers important questions such as:

  • Why do we need skills for DEIB?
  • Which skills matter most?
  • What should you do now?

This is followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A.
